Big Brother Day One

Saturday, December 2nd, 2006

hmm, it was a rather chaotic start. So let’s just do a random stream of consciousness bullet point list…

  • As in RL (real lifeā„¢), they couldn’t spell my name right.
  • I had originally thought it begins at 4 pm. It actually began at 4 am, resulting in me getting very little sleep last night. I’m pretty tired right now.
  • There were 71 people at the opening ceremony. This is some kind of record. Up to now, the most I’ve seen in one sim without a crash is around 40-50.
  • 12 guys, 3 women. At least, that’s what the avatars show. I’m sure more than one female avatar has a male player. And I’m not sure how to count Goreans, and there’s a couple of part-time furries in the mix, as well as an elf. All in all, a diverse groups.
  • Someone was obviously a sore loser at not getting picked, and tried to crash the sim and then proceeded to use cage guns on all the participants.
  • We weren’t given any special instructions on which rooms are ours, so it fell more or less randomly. There are some good builders among us.
  • Our timers to record how long we are online broke, so effectively we all get a bye (ooh, spot the sports reference there) on the first day.

Thirteen is, as of the time I started writing this, the number of hours before I enter the Big Brother house. this is of course 4 am local time, which means I’ll be going to bed as soon as I get home, and hopefully waking up when my alarm clock goes off. That is an iffy event; I have been known to sleep through fire alarms and even earthquakes before. I may just decide to pull an all-nighter instead.

But in any case, I will have to switch my body clock from late nights to early mornings, thanks to the way they’ve scheduled things. It would’ve been so much easier if that time read “pm” instead of “am”.

ps. some kind of soup with scrambled egg, onion, and seaweed, served with rice (with seaweed), and a side dish of salad and chicken and liver, deep fried with sesame seeds. Who says school lunch isn’t delicious :-/
