Mythfits Covenant

This covenant applies to both rental tenants and leasehold tenants in Mythfits servers.

Executive Summary: If we need to go through the rules with a toothpick to determine who is right and who is wrong in a dispute, things have already broken down beyond repair. The sim is basically residential, with some light commercial use allowed. The general ethos is play nice together. That said, almost anything will be changed if 100% (or even a significant majority) of existing tenants are unanimously in favour of such a change.

Communication

Your main contact for all billing enquiries, and for help resolving disputes with your neighbours in the sim, is Warda Kawabata. To facilitate communication, please add me to your friends list. In addition, there is a group, “Mythfits Residents”, for those who are renting, leasing, or interested in, land in these servers. All tenants are encouraged to join this group. Anyone can chat in the group, and tenants can send group notices.

Anyone using the group for advertising or spam messages may be asked to leave.

Conduct

  • No Harassment of any kind will be tolerated.
  • No Stalking.
  • No Non-Consenual Combat Games. Should you choose to use your parcel for competitive activities you will not allow these activities to impact your neighbours.
  • You are responsible for your guests. If your guests/clients etc. cause trouble they may be banned. In the case of random “griefers” please contact a Mythfits representative, and we will deal with them.
  • Sexual ageplay is absolutely forbidden, if at any time you are found to be engaging in sexual ageplay you will have your land reclaimed and you will be banned from all Mythfits sims, no questions asked. Note that non-sexual ageplay is acceptable.
  • Observe normal social rules of behaviour you would in real life. Outdoors, nudity will not be tolerated.
  • Please keep sex and nudity to indoors areas, preferably located to minimise visability from your neighbours.

Acceptable Usage

The sims are designated as Residential / Light Commercial. It is acceptable to run a retail store from the sim, but the primary focus of the sim is intended to be residential. Camping chairs, or similar devices designed to encourage visitors to spend long periods without interacting with other people in a meaningful way, will not be tolerated. Any tenant using excessive numbers of scripted objects, which may be likely to happen with a retail store, will be asked to remove some of the scripts.

Yes, this may be harsh on a full-blown commercial store. This sim is primarily intended for residential usage, but to allow the option for tenants to do some small-scale retail. If there is sufficient demand, I will open another sim for purely commercial activities.

The Rules

The following items are specifically not allowed to be built in the sims:

  • camping chairs
  • nightclubs
  • anything that goes against the main terms of service as set out by Linden Lab.
  • anything of a sexually explicit nature that can be seen from outside your land. Sexual activity is fine, but not as a public display.
  • no gambling
  • no pyramid schemes
  • no advertising signs, unless they are very discreet, indoors, and part of a small retail store. You sim neighbours know you have a store; you don’t need to advertise at them.
  • Any object that significantly affects the server performance may be removed by the sim management.
  • You may not sub-let any land in these sims.

Megaprims

Megaprims are defined as any prim that has one of more dimensions longer than 10 metres. These are allowed, with some restrictions. The entire prim must rest entirely within your land. And the prim may not be a sculpted prim (megaprim + sculpted prim = lag). The megaprim must not be physics-enabled. To prevent issues with the physics engine, it is also recommended that they be made phantom, but this is not required.

Skyboxes

Any skyboxes must be built above 400 metres altitude. This is partly to ensure they cannot be seen from the ground, and partly to ensure they do not get drawn on the world maps. Skyboxes can be made in any style; they do not have to fit in with the theme set for the sim at ground level.

Security Systems

You may ban specific residents from your land. However, you may not use the “About Land… -> Allowed Residents” list to restrict access. This has the unfortunate effect of creating red ban lines for everyone in the sim, ruining the SL experience for all your neighbours.

Security orbs are permitted. Any security orb must give at least 30 seconds warning before any action is taken against a first-time intruder. In addition, the security orb’s area of effect must not go beyond your land.

Ground Level

Anything built at ground level must follow the rules of what I call “fantasy physics”. Basically, no floating buildings - everything must be anchored to the ground. That’s not to say everything must be possible in real life - far from it. It would be perfectly acceptable to take the Pyramids of Egypt, flip them upside-down, and build them here. As long as it would be theoretically possible if super-strong, super-light materials were available, it is acceptable.

Buildings at ground level that tower above the surrounding landscape are not generally acceptable. This limit is not strictly enforced, and there is some flexibility, but generally, the maximum height for buildings at ground level should be 3 metres for each metre from the edge of your parcel of land. For example, a building that is at least 5 metres from the edge of your parcel could be up to 15 metres high (about three floors).

That said, every sim has a certain theme set out for it’s ground level, in order to encourage a uniform feel across the entire sim.
